Gueydan Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber of Commerce was chartered in 1974. Through the years it has provided many services, including an annual scholarship to a worthy Gueydan High School Graduate. The Chamber also supports the businesses and community in other ways such as the "Paint the Town Red" during the Gueydan High School football season and "Ghosts and Goodies" for Halloween, "Christmas in the Park" for Christmas, "Business Appreciation luncheon" in April.
The Chamber sponsors a Mardi Gras Krewe which has a ball during Mardi Gras each year. A separate sub-committee coordinates that function.
The Krewe's name is the "Krewe de La Chambre Royale" (translated "Crew of the Royal Chamber"). The king and queen are King Jean Pierre and Queen Amalie.
This is the tenth year and the ball will be held on January 30, 2010.
